AOL has a pool of IP numbers. AOL has more people online at any one time than they have IP numbers. So, whenever an AOL user logged on, they're randonmly assigned an IP number. It is possible for maybe a thousand people to have the same IP number at the same time. However, think of how many effing people use AOL. Tens of millions of people use AOL, and to run into two people out of those tens of millions who have the same IP number, on the same board, posting at the same time are pretty bad stats.
