Or at least his line of thinking shows similarities with disc theory. Atrus line of thinking on how to design a world as reflected in the 4 parallel world of the Myst III game reflects the four polarities of the popular disc test. In fact when playing the game a message is that you need all spheres to get a good world.
- stastis, peaceful element >> S factor
- energy and crisis >> the opposite of statis >>> D factor
- ' dynamic forces ' >> causes the switching between stasis and crisis, the need to get something different, the need of variety and change is the I factor in disc theory
- balance >> this is the thing that makes civilized orderly world, the meta-system; systemic thinking is the C-factor in disc
