> Casey seems to be a typical Self Confident Style ' old boys network ' person. He run the CIA like a business unit, taking the important role in an organisation which he gave important assignments again, after a period of attrition of the CIA's human resources by Jimmy Carter (triggered by CIA incompetency causing the Iranian Revolution). Unfortunately Casey chose the wrong goals in Southern American countries. His competitive mind made him influence Reagan to change the role of the CIA in Afghanistan to ' win' the game of the Soviets. Casey was a very succesful businessman in many ambitious ventures.
Yes, Casey was a Good Old Boy, who knew where the bodies were buried.... ( Why not, he helped to bury alot of them! ) I would suggest that he had a non too healthy Vigilant Style as well. He was infamous for pathological secretiveness, and for mumbling at meetings, so that no one knew what what he was saying! Lou Cannon in his biograph of Reagan as Presdient, has an amusing story that Casey proved to annoy even the usually easy going Reagan. One time at a meeting when Casey was doing his usual mumbling rountine, Reagan suddenly went off on him. Everybody at the meeting was dumb founded at such unexpected behavior from Reagan! Casey spoken intelligble for the rest of the meeting.... Rich
