Helen Palmer describes type 2 as the pleaser/flatterer of the strong person, the person who gives and complies to the wishes of the mighty man in order to let this person act as a defender of her/his interests (co-dependent personality). In unhealthy state we can see in her type 2 the person described by Rich as ' yes man and ass kisser ' or the caricature of the ' loyal secretary behind the CEO '
Twos can sometimes feel so dependent on other persons that they like to triangulate, to be attracted to some "great man" or inspiring woman ("muse") while being involved in a more available romace. That way they can hedge on commitment, not risk rejection so much.
Conclusion: Helen Palmers texts about her type 2 fits/connects very well with the older and traditional descriptions in psychology about the Dependent Personality, the normal variant described by John Oldham as Devoted Style.
