> Hello Rich:
> Did you think my motive behind posting was directed at you specifically? If so, I apologize for feeding you that misperception. At 61 and well aware of your personality's identity crisis, I expected you to have overcome that major obstacle by now, even if that consisted in simply ignoring it. But don't say that you never experienced the kind of existential emptiness I talked about. In fact, I'm quite sure you have, on a very profound level. I knew it when you gave your analysis on the painting of the masked people. It hit home with you, didn't it. For your analysis was not of the kind that comes from an intellectual distance, but the kind that comes from the grim experiences and frustration of living with compensatory narcissism. Tell me Rich, can you even put into words the feelings that you felt when you first saw that painting?
I had no feelings when I saw the picture.... I first thought of a 3W4, like Dee, who was wondering about the different masks. But I realized that it was a Vigilant Style-6W5. Wondering why the people were hiding behind masks. Jan said that he expected that reaction from me; the Sensitive Style shares the scanning ability & the search for meaning of the Vigilant Style!
I would put it to the 3W4 awareness that things are not what they seem. My frustrations comes from being able to see the environment so clearly, listen to what & how things are said ( Sensitive ), and with " the quickness of understanding " grasp the implications so much faster.... Its not compensatory narcissism, its that others cann't see what is so obvious to me! I worked with a lady 1W2/ESFJ, eventually she would tell me, " Oh, I see what you were trying to say! " Geez!
