I believe that American History ( That's USA History, DEE ...! ) is profoundly shaped by the Adeventurous Style. As I have explained the Puritans were the Conscientious Style as perfectionist ( E 1 ) But, as late as 1776 we are talking about a thin strip of the Atlantic sea coast, as the USA. What was wanted were people willing to go into the unknown, to better themsleves by doing whatever it took. They had to withstand terrible hardships. They couldn't be too finicky about the fact that the Indians already were settled there, not being legally married, or that there was no organized society.... There is a real element of the anti-social disorder in American History before 1900, you break what rules you have to, to live! ( Notice how easily the recent business scandals were treated ? )
Even to this day, in the USA , people who pull fast ones, who get around rules & regulations are admired; as long as they don't get caught! ( Harming alot of people is a no-no. ) Rich
