All right. It's about a bird whose physical form has become a taxidermic decoration.
Or maybe not. After all, this more literal interpretation retains the motif of "freedom" vs. "structure" (contextually understood) by which I initially interpreted the poem.
In any event, though I respect you as the author, I'll probably end up regarding my initial interpretation as a feasible alternative to the definitive one.
I know, it's too easy for some dunce to indolently abuse the old analogy "You see a vase, I see two profiles." My initial interpretation makes psychological sense, however; it considers all the words, and its symbolization is not contrived or far-fetched. Not to me, anyway. :>
