One of the problems we have in our individual based culture is finding meaning. Often people from traditional cultures don't have this problem to the same degree because their roles are more established. They are part of some group most importantly family. So, if you are a father, that's all you need to know, you've done your duty, if you are a wife and mother you are fulfilling the role set out for you. Here we have to struggle to find and define our role, then we have to fulfill it.
My point in this post is that don't feel bad if it is hard for you to find meaning. It is our culture. Our culture makes it the responsiblity of each individual to find his/her role - think about it, how many of us say "I have to find myself".
I'll give you a hint about finding meaning in this culture. What is the thing that you have dreamed about since childhood? the thing that keeps coming back into your life? the thing that makes yoiu happy, even if you are not for example, particularly good at it, or if it is not easy for you to do? that is the key to finding meaning in your life.
