It's funny you say that. I guess it's true, 4s are the best at dropping bad relationships. That was my first reaction, anyway.
I think, you either tell the 8, or learn to overcome your anxiety by befriending someone else.
Rho's right, you need to relax yourself and stop trying to say you're too this, too that; worrying won't change anything, but being peaceful will. Accept that maybe it's her fault that she's not sitting with you, and that it's her issues as opposed to your character. Most of all, just be calm within yourself. I find that fixes most of my problems, at least.
Good luck. Hope you feel better soon.

(P.s. the menstrual cycle, I think, must suck in other 4s too. I just weep for days on end!! Hmm, hormones. :P).

> In your situation I would just chill and relinquish my connection with this person. Relinquish all desire to have her time, her attention. Put her behind you and find a way to do what you do in a fresh way. Work on being self reliant. Read some new books or get a hobby. Maybe some day the two of you will have a new way of relating. BUt maybe you won't. BUt it is sure that you can't be free till you make your emotional attachements to and expectations about this person go away.
