It's a lot different from going to my trauma therapist...is it because of the group? As in lots of people who won't let me get away with anything?
=I meant to add to this as well..... Yes, it is because of the group. The group does wonders for identifying your behaviors. I mean first of all, it helps just to sit and talk with others who are going through similar situations in life, dealing with the same problems and issues. It helps you to realize that you aren't the only one..... and somehow that is comforting. Just to know that there are others out there who understand you.
Also the group helps you to see yourself.
It's very hard to make your inner feelings vulnerable to a bunch of strangers.... but none of them are going to judge you. I felt like a wounded animal the first time I shared(because I thought I had dealt with all my pain, but I still had some lurking around that I hadn't pinned down)....and I had no idea how hard it would be... but afterwards.....it was freeing.
I'm still learning as I go....
Anyway......I believe you will feel better by what you are doing. I read the other day in a book that ..... "It's the people who never seek help that are the sickest, the ones who ask for help are the healthy ones."
