For the easy 1-2-3 way, take a test, and go with your next highest score. With traditional/popular Enneagram theory, you'll have to restrict that to your adjacent types, meaning see if you score higher in 5 or 3. Voila!
For the psyche-diving stuff, get a good Enneagram book and read the descriptions of 5 and 3 and see which one resonates more. Look for the *bad* side of both. This might take time.
There are various theories on what 4w3 is like vs. 4w5, and supposedly a lot of ppl (like myself?) prefer to claim the latter when they are actually the former, but that would probably be a good discussion topic to start here, or go to www.thechangeworks.com and read Condon's descriptions of the 4w3 and 4w5.
