In short, you have to pursue the thing you love. In my case it was music - songwriting, to be specific. I wanted to do it at 14, I wanted to do it at 6, at 21, 24, at 31 I finally convinced myself I had no talent or gift and that it was time to really truly be sensible. I went back to school, got a software job that, after a while, was a real soul killer.
I'll be starting music school in September. I'm 38. Life is incredibly hard for me right now - I won't go into specifics. But this is all I can do. I can't go back to any other half life now.
What is it you love? Not what is it that you sort of like that you are kind of good at that you could make a living at - but what is it that you love? Don't bring in any foolish concerns like you don't have the backgroynd or experience. Thats what held me back for 23 years. The only way you get experience is by doing something. a little bit at a time.
So, Jules, what is it you love?
