Fours are apart of the feeling triad, the main emotion is shame:
Fours attempt to control their shame by focusing on how unique and special their particular talents, feelings, and personal characteristics are. Fours highlight their individuality and creativity as a way of dealing with their shameful feelings, although Fours are the type most likely to succumb to feelings of inadequacy. Fours also manage their shame by cultivating a rich, romantic fantasy life in which they do not have to deal with whatever in their life seems drab or uninteresting to them
In my book "Understanding the Enneagram", by Don Richard Riso and Russ Hudson. They introduce the Hornevian Groups.
Fours motivational aim, along with two's and three's is attention.
but like five's and nine's they withdraw in order to get what they want.
Fours want attention, a rescuer, yet fear abandonment, so they often play hard to get.
Also like five's when four's enter a room they automatically feel diconnected and different and to enforce their sense of self they show how unique they are and hope someone will notice
I guess that's all the psychology behind why we "seduce".
I try to understand it in order to (what the book recommends)catch yourself in act...use a more objective perspective and stop your bad habits.
I hope this all helps you as much as it helps me
