Be Here Now was a slogan coined by Yoko Ono.
(She's a terrible singer, but an incredible
artistic visionary). It means be in the moment
where you are, and not in the past or the future.
I like what Riso and Hudson say (some Enneagram
guru people) about a healthy 4 is one who is
able to stop defining themselves by their (very
real) feelings, and allow themselves to be redefined
each moment that they feel something different.
To me that means not holding onto a particular
mood that is my identity, but realizing that
just because I don't feel, or dress, or act a
certain way in a given day or moment doesn't mean
that I'm not the same person anymore. Lol... I
don't know if I'm making sense or if this helps
at all. I'm just on a really upswing now. I
certainly am not one who has it all together all
the time. Someone once told me (in regards to
my relationship with God, but applicable here as
well) that it's not that we don't know the truth,
just that we need to be reminded of it. I think
that applies very much so to 4's. We have it in
us that we can be more, do more, live more freely.
We've experienced it at fleeting moments or seasons,
and somehow if we can just tap into that feeling,
we think we will be free. But maybe it's that
we step out in wanting to be free, and sort of
"feel the fear and do it anyways", and THEN we
feel free. Lol...okay, I'm done rambling now.
