> Hi everyone,

> As fours, I was wondering what your thoughts were on this situation. I just started a job...its teaching. It's my first week. I'm stressed and dreading going into work everyday. Also, all the students are older than me which makes me feel more intimidated. I feel like an idiot like I'm doing an awful job. I'm all nervous and not very familiar with what I'm teaching so that doesn't help. I don't feel like I'm bonding with the students and I feel very unconfident. The thing is I don't know whether I should stick it out or whether I should just can the whole thing. Maybe I need to try harder? Look I'm being indecisive again.. oh brother! I sure would appreciate any advice and help. Maybe I should take a shot of vodka before I head to work..haha

Hi Jules,

I can really understand how you must be feeling. Starting new is always the hardest. I would have to say that the good 'ol phrase of "give it time" is very true. I'm the same way too (since I'm a 4). I get really nervous, and I want to already know everything so that I don't make a mistake and look stupid. I worry if, do my co-workers like me, what are they thinking about me etc. Everything you could imagine. I've realized that over time, you will get into the swing of things and most of those fears are just "new job" fears. I'd say give it some time. I'm sure that you will do just fine! No vodka before work :) Also, "acting" helps alittle bit too. If you act like your confident, they will think your confident then in turn you will really start to feel confident (in your teaching abilities and what not). That's what I do. It does work pretty well for me. I wish you lots of luck and you will do super. If you had a rotten day, like say someone threw a tomato at you, just come on here and unload. I know everyone will cheer you up and you will feel better. Hang in there! You will do super duper! Look, I'm not really a dork at all, I just like to act like one sometimes! :) I hope I helped somewhat. :) Stephania
