I just learned that I was a four yesterday so reading all of this makes so much sense to me! It's exciting in a way because things I have struggled with my whole life I hear many of you struggled with too. I suppose that's reassuring.

Anyway, about math. I did struggle with math until I was a senior in high school. I was always in the advanced classes even though the teachers always told me parents I daydreamed. I had a 7th grade teacher who constantly yelled at me when I asked for clarification of directions. Some of the directions just never made sense to me. I also found an easier way to do things or I found that some things she said just did not make sense. Anyway, she got angry at me for not just following the directions. So in 12th grade I had this wonderful Calculus teacher who let me do things my way and it was really the first time I made As in math! Plus it was more of a challenge for me. Before I just got lost in all the numbers and I didn't really care. I would perform for tests because I had to. College was incredible for me. I went to a really small liberal arts school. I majored in religion and history and minored in philosophy. My professors there allowed me to take control of my own education. I was allowed to be creative and think outside the box. Now I'm in graduate school and school is difficult again because I feel so boxed in. In some classes I feel I can't express what I'm really thinking. That is so frustrating.
