First off its "Evanescence" unless you were sarcastically poking fun. to get any real female rockers you have to go to the underground punk scene, if you can find it and then their music is really raw and not cleared like the "pretty" music they play on the radio. and as far as alanus moremoremoreisset is concerned she doesnt even sing ROCK shes one of those hippie folk singers.i put a link up {hope it shows} maybe you can look and see if some of these bands are appealling to you. you can also do searches in underground female bands or female bands of 2003 see what comes up

> I used to want to be a rock star. Back in the 70s it seemd inevitable that women would rise up to the same level of cultural influence of a Jim Morrison for example. There were the Wilson sisters of Heart, Joan Jett & the Runaways (although I don't think Joan wrote her own songs), even Debbie Harry although she uncomfortably straddled between serious rock and bullshit pop.

> Now we have no one -- Alanis, where have you gone? Courtney Love was always a phony, her early music sounded good but turned out to be written by someone else (the Smashin' Pumpins lead singer.) Avril Lavigne is too young to judge yet but seems like a punk poseur, and will probably join all the other trash soon -- the Mandy Moores and Jessica Simpsons and now they are trying to turn Hillary Duff into another one. Now all we have is the Christine Whoreulera trash and the trash pictured here -- when I turn on my radio, the ONLY female presence in half-decent modern rock is whoever sings in that band Ebernescence. It is a complete Void for women. Should I go into it at my advanced age of 41? But there's the rub -- there are probably great female rockers out there somewhere but no one signs them -- it's all the crap, like WHAT THE HELL DOES J-LO SING ANYWAY, I'VE NEVER EVER heard one of her songs yet I always see her listed in the music lists? HUHHH? I thought she was an actress, period.

> The point of this rant is just how disgusting and phony the female part of the music biz is, it does nothing for really from-the-heart rockers like me. I listen to men all day, they are the only ones rocking. Seems strange and pathetic -- not that those men aren't great at what they do, but where are the female rockers? Like I said, am I supposed to have to do it at my age? I really don't want to!!!! I like Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow somewhat but they are more easy-listening rock than the real hard stuff.
