> I'm a 5 with a strong 4 wing, although lately I've been more 5w6...I think because I just graduated from college and really have no idea what I'm doing with my life yet...so I guess a little anxiety is to be expected. Anyway, my main question is how do other 5w4 get along with 8s? Both my brother and my dad are 8s, and I was planning on getting an apartment with my brother until we got in a big fight and decided against it. He calls me overemotional...which is a little weird. I don't know if any other 5s are going to relate. I think because I have trouble opening up emotionally to people I rely on my family to fill that role, so he always sees me at my most emotional. But he sees emotions as a weakness, so he calls me irrational and out of control at these times, which REALLY pisses me off (I'm sure a few 5s will relate to this aspect). We both like to debate, but he's in it to win the argument and I'm there to think about the issues. So... is this just typical sibling "I know how to get under your skin so I will" BS or do other 5s (especially 5w4) have similar conflicts with 8s?

I believe it takes a rare person to be able to get under the skin of most 5's, so I'd probably suggest staying away from those who can manage it, it's unnerving. When I have debates, I'm usually in a debate just to play with the ideas, I think most people in general feel they have to prove themselves right, they probably find it odd when I don't have any emotional stake invested in a point of debate.
