Sixes I know simply imagine (primarily visually I think) the 'worst-case scenario' and then imagine their response. So for instance a counter-phobic six I knew when I was younger got in a fair number of fights. Although he wasn't aggressive, he was big and scary-looking, so other people who were aggressive thought he'd be a good person to pick fights with I guess. Really bad idea! He was the fastest, strongest person I've ever seen, and one punch was all it ever took. But anyway I asked him what his internal process was when he was sizing up an opponent or making his move...he said he imagined that if he didn't hit the person as hard and as fast as possible and take them out immediately, then he would be on the ground getting kicked in the head and probably wind up dead or maimed. And I think he would really SEE that outcome, which lent vigor to his defensive offense.
