I think sometimes practitioners are a little confused on these points. I have read books which say that a 5 adopts a gregarious pose in stressful situations to provide a means of escape. I definitely notice sevenness under stress but I don't utilise an ability to be in my head to withdraw. I tend to use it to place myself in the positions of others or to see their concerns. I figure if I can understand myself and my likely reactions to a situation I am sufficiently human to guess any other person's first instinct based upon the path of least resistance. That's a complex issue.

What would you like to get out of dialogue with me? What can I tell you that would be helpful? (If those questions sound a little forced that's a 5 pushing himself 'out there' ;)

The focus in type-identification is how you try to control others. I know I am a 5 because if I get in a bad mood I do not think it will get me special consideration or favour. I exert control through intellectual authority (and rarely). Hence, 5.

My ex was a 4 who often operated out of her 5 wing (I think saying people only operate out of one wing must also be fallacious. I have a 6s attitude to authority, I trust none but I want to) but she exerted control not with argument but with sullenness and spite. Hence 4 (hence ex too lol).

That last was just an idle observation.

Write back.

But have fun first :)
