Happily married ten years and counting. My husband is a 5w6 and I am a 2w1. We probably would have a rockier go had I not known about the Enneagram. I give him his space and he abides by a limited social schedule which involves one big party a year (would be more if I weren't married to a Five ;-) and a smattering of social engagements every month. When you're a Two married to a Five there must be compromises on social engagements which involve the two of you. I have many friends outside our marriage and that keeps both of us happy since I'm less of a drain on his time to himself.

Where we're the most different is in "T" and "F" functions. But it's a very nice complement. It's been a great marriage but I have to say he's a warmer Five than some. I'm not sure I'd ever get along with a cranky old crumudgen hermit-type who is totally out of touch with any feeling function. I think it is his Six wing which warms him up and my One wing makes me a less Extroverted Two.
