As a 5w4, I can relate to what you are saying. What I relate to the most is understanding the world to understand yourself, though I think it goes both ways. I think understanding the world helps us to understand ourselves just as understanding ourselves helps us to understand our world. This might vary according to whether I am in 5w4 mode or 4w5 mode, but I don't think it's limited to that. You can look at the self as an individual within the system, and you can look at the world as the collective - the system. This brings me to suggest the author Ken Wilber, because he suggests that we cannot understand the whole without understanding the parts and we cannot udnerstand the parts without understanding the whole. So it's a reciprocal process. We can't understand the self without understanding the world and we can't understand the world without understanding ourselves. In this way, I think everything is connected. I hope I haven't gone out on an analytical limb that I'm sure us 5s are famous for, but it's what I have to offer you for feedback, so I hope I was able to lend some insight.
